There are many festivities scheduled for the weekend of the 4th of July.
Here is a list of activities listed by town and city. Several celebrations include “old fashioned” festivities for families such as face painting, potato sack races, and plenty of live music.
The Triangle area is well-known for great music and a wonderful summer atmosphere. Pick your day, time and activity and have a wonderful Independence Day holiday.

APEX – Downtown Apex 9:00am – 1:00pm – Wednesday July 4. Games, inflatables, bicycle parade (no fireworks).
BURLINGTON – July 3rd in the Park. The Magnificents Band with a free concert at 6 PM, fun for all ages 6 to 8 PM, Fireworks later- July 3 – Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration – Burlington City Park softball fields.
CARRBORO – Carrboro Town Commons 9:30am – 3:00pm – July 4th. Music, face painting, balloon sculpture artists, roaming magicians, scrap exchange, games, food and more. Parade on Weaver Street in downtown Carrboro with events at the Town Commons.
CARY – Koka Booth Ampitheatre – 3:00 – 11:00pm July 4 - music and fireworks. Koka Kids Club fun: Video Gaming truck, Magic shows, Face Painting and a family scavenger hunt from 3 to 7 PM.
CHAPEL HILL – Back by Popular Demand! Fireworks at Keenan Stadium gates open at 7 PM, fireworks at 9:30 PM.
CHAPEL HILL- Horace Williams House – 1:00 – 3:00pm – July 4. Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration.
DURHAM- Festival on the Eno – West Point on the Eno, Durham City Park – N. Roxboro St. 3 day festival, Wednesday July 4, Saturday July 7, and Sunday July 8. 10:00am – 6:00pm daily. Booths, activities, performers on all 3 days. Please Note: There are no fireworks listed for this event.
DURHAM- Durham Bulls Baseball Durham Bulls are playing a home game on July 4th and 5th. The baseball game starts at 6:05pm. Lots of fun and festivities at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and American Tobacco Complex within walking distance. The Durham Bulls will have fireworks after each of the July 4th and July 5th games.
FUQUAY VARINA – music, kid’s games and fireworks at Fuquay Varina’s South Park – 820 N. Main Street. July 3rd, gates open at 6 PM.
GARNER - July 3 (not July 4). Lake Benson Park – NC Symphony will perform. Gates open at 5pm and will have fireworks after dark.
MEBANE – Annual Music Festival and Fireworks – Mebane Arts and Community Center. 7:30 -10:00pm Fireworks 9:40pm – July 4.
RALEIGH- Joel Lane Musuem House – 11:00 am – 4:00pm – July 4 – Old Fashioned Celebration including reenactments of Colonial Life (no fireworks)
RALEIGH – Raleigh Convention Center (Please Note: no fireworks at the State Fairgrounds this year!) - July4th Fayetteville Street – Events all day long: King BMX Stunt Show, Hot Dog Eating Contest, Ice Cream Eating Contest, Music Performances at Morgan Street Stage, Courthouse Steps and the City Plaza Stage. Fireworks at 9:30 PM.
WAKE FOREST – Wake Forest has Fireworks Spectacular on July 3rd. On July 4th there is a Children’s Parade at 10 AM.

Wake Forest Fireworks are tonight, July 3rd at Heritage HS. Tomorrow’s parade and children’s festivities will be happening downtown. More information may be found at:
