Memorial Day Remembrance

Memorial Day began in small communities, which recognized those soldiers who gave their  lives during the American Civil War. Join Civil War soldier interpreters as the share the history and significance of Memorial Day. FREE admission, but donations gratefully accepted. May 28, 2011 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Bennett Place State Historic Site. Durham.


May 25 – 29, 2011 ACC Baseball Championship Purchase Tickets

The ACC’s top eight teams will compete in a round-robin format for the Championship. See website for ticket pricing. Th-Sa 11am, 3pm, & 7pm; Su 1pm Championship game. Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Durham.

May 30, 2011 – June 2, 2011 Durham Bulls vs. Columbus Clippers

May 28, 2011 DoughMan Quadrathlon

The DoughMan is the world’s premier quadrathlon. Part triathlon (bike, run, swim/water event), part competitive eating event. The race will be a team relay with each member eating at a quintessential Durham eatery followed by an athletic portion (run, bike or water event.) It culminates with the final “team” leg where the entire team meets for the final dessert followed by a group dash to the finish line. All race proceeds will go to benefit SEEDS. 8am Various locations.

May 27, 2011 Fridays on the Front Porch

Join us for our popular end-of-the-work week celebration that takes place every Friday from 5pm – 9pm through October 7th. This fun filled event features live bluegrass music, a picnic and drink specials on the front porch, overlooking the Inn’s tree-shaded north lawn. No cover charge or reservations required. May 28, 2011 Play with the Pros – Summerfest

Jump-start your summer break with a popular tradition, Play with the Pros. The Triangle’s most talented amateur instrumentalists join your Symphony to perform the perfect tunes to kick off Summerfest 2011, including Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Dvorak’s beautiful and rustic Eighth Symphony.
