Homebuying Myth #2: The House has to Speak to You

Today’s blog is going to cover Myth #2 of Annalisa Burgos’“6 Myths of Buying a Home.”

Annalisa is a producer from HGTV’s FrontDoor.com. I enjoyed her article so I’m sharing some of these myths with you.

Myth #2 is “The House has to Speak to You as a Buyer.”

Reason: Now, the reason that this is in 2nd place is that you want to have an emotional connection with the house and feel like it is the right one. I have bought houses that way, and I have not been disappointed.

Consider: The thing is, in today’s market, you are missing opportunities out there for a house that is not being shown at its best. When you remember the houses that are most attractive, those homes are often staged by a professional stager or home decorator. That is why they feel just right — those homes have been thinned out or otherwise changed to create the best first impression for you.

How about You? Have you found this to be true? Did you purchase a home that “spoke” to you? I am eager to hear your comments. Feel free to note them below or send me an email to Amy@AmyShair.com.
